Natural health is one of my true passions and I enjoy sharing new info. As we continue to adapt with these circumstances, I want to give you some convenient resources that my family and I use. This lengthy email covers what I personally use in the categories of: exercise, foods, health and supplements.
Exercise:
– Boho Beautiful- My wife and I have been using Boho Beautiful to do Yoga and Pilates for the last several years. Since the YMCA has been closed for the last couple of weeks, I have incorporated more kettlebell workouts at home.
– Cosmic Kid- I have a 4 year old and discovered this fun kid friendly and family-oriented yoga on YouTube this week called Cosmic Kid.
– Dr. Axe also offers burstfit and burstfit fire for interval training.
– Trampoline- We just got this Spring Free Trampoline and love it!
Food & Supplement Resources:
– Ancient Nutrition-I have been taking supplements from Ancient Nutrition for the last few years. Last month, we started carrying this line in our office. I particularly like their multi-daily, Omegas, Collagen line, probiotic and CBD products.
-Thrive Market- Thrive Market membership service offers a ton of wholesome food, home and beauty products. Their prices on products are discounted compared to the big stores, like Whole Foods and it is delivered free directly to your door.
– Meats and Fish:
- Butcher Box- Butcher Box is delivered right to my front door. They have 100% grass-fed beef, free-range organic chicken and heritage pork. It is a monthly subscription service that you can personalize.
- Sardines- Wild Planet purchased through Thrive or Amazon.
– Traeger Grill- I was never into grilling until I got my hands on this wood-fired grill, it is a game changer! I can’t recommend these enough. It makes even a novice cook like myself feel like a real chef.
– Farmers Market- I love visiting our local Farmers Market and particularly like: Devlin farms (certified organic*) for fruits and veggies, Kelly’s Berries for berries and jams, Peaceful Pastures and River Cottage.
* I try to only buy “certified organic” for produce which has the highest pesticide residues. These are referred to as the “dirty dozen”…strawberries, spinach, nectarines, apples, peaches, pears, cherries, grapes, celery, tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, potatoes. Foods that have been ranked as the “least contaminated” and ones where I don’t necessarily buy organic are sweet corn, avocados, pineapples, cabbage, onions, sweet peas, papayas, asparagus, mango, eggplant, honeydew melon and kiwi.
– Recipes- I get my recipes from https://blog.paleohacks.com/# and Draxe.com.
– Fresh Pressed Olive Oils– They have the freshest and most flavorful olive oils from around the world and these olive oils are not full of chemicals or watered down.
– George Howell Coffee- Our office manager, Austin, recently turned me on to this amazing coffee.
– Mountain Rose Herbs for spices and salts.
– Z Natural Foods for nuts and popcorn kernels.
Other Health & Wellness Resources:
– Cool Springs Family Medicine-Wellness checks and Food Allergy test. We go to CFM and see Samantha Jones for our wellness checkups as well Food Allergy Tests. My family just got our food allergy tests done earlier this year and it was very informative for each of us to see what we were sensitive to. This helped in eliminating inflammatory foods which helps restore gut health.
– Wellness Mama and Wellnesse– Wellness Mama offers a wealth of knowledge and information for you and your family, home remedies, and recipes for food as well as those to heal your body. Her new company Wellnesse, has just released a toothpaste and shampoo/conditioner line that have natural ingredients that are safe for the whole family.
– Mama Natural- In 2016, Michelle had a home-birth with our son, Connor. We educated ourselves through a great course from mama natural and would be helpful for anyone expecting.
– Intellibed- One of the most frequent questions I get in the office is “what brand of mattress do you recommend?” I highly recommend Intellibed, they are non-toxic mattresses. You can try them out at Mattress Firm in Cool Springs. We have a discount code in the office if you are interested.
– Berkey Water Filters– One of the most important things we can do for our body is to get clean, purified drinking water (not from the tap).
I hope you find some of these sites and resources useful.
