Stop what you’re doing right now… take just a moment and check in with yourself.
Where are your shoulders? Are they raised up, tense and tight?
How did you sleep last night?
Have you been having headaches, worrying, feeling anxious about things?
You’re not alone. Stress is a problem for millions of people…
And the Covid-19 crisis along with the more recent riots has caused a huge uptick in serious stress and anxiety that has health experts very concerned.
In fact, stress has a massive negative effect on your health.
Now, I knew that stress can appear in many forms and from many directions BUT I didn’t know how much of an impact stress had on our health and well-being.
I was looking at a study published in JAMA Internal Medicine that estimates 60 to 80 percent of primary care doctor visits are related to stress…
Yet only 3 percent of patients receive stress management help.
Not only that… our nervous system flows directly to every tissue in the body and if the stress side of our nervous system is overactive, then in turn every tissue in the body is negatively impacted as well.
Which means that any disorder connected to that tissue can also be made worse by stress.
…Worst of all, it has harrowing effects on anyone battling mental health conditions like:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Dementia
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Bipolar Disorder
- Alzheimer’s Disease
- Schizophrenia
- OCD
- ADD / ADHD
- And many more…
And with the stress of people getting sick and possibly losing work all around us – the problems could get worse before they get better.
Which is why I felt compelled to share this with you as soon as possible.
Here is a list of 10 things you can do help with your stress level.
- Exercise. Working out regularly is one of the best ways to relax your body and mind
- Relax Your Muscles. When you’re stressed, your muscles get tense
- Deep Breathing
- Eat Well
- Slow Down
- Chiropractic care (stress reduction, benefits of care article)
- Make Time for Hobbies
- Talk About Your Problems
- Meditate ( I use an app called headspace and waking up)
- Avoid stress triggers (sensationalized news)
All I want is to shield you from whatever is potentially hazardous around us.
